Ayurveda for Weight, Cholesterol and Blood Sugar Support in San Ramon

Struggling with weight, worried about cholesterol or blood sugar, or tired of diets that do not fit your life: these are common reasons people book with an Ayurvedic doctor. Preeti Gupta at Minute Wonder Ayurveda in San Ramon looks at digestion, metabolism, food and routine to support healthy habits, always alongside your physician's care.

High cholesterol, blood sugar problems and diabetes are medical conditions managed by your physician. Preeti does not diagnose them, does not track or adjust your lab results and does not replace your medication. She makes no promises about weight or lab values.

What Ayurveda looks at

Ayurveda ties metabolism to agni, the digestive fire, and weight to the balance of the doshas, especially kapha, the dosha of structure and heaviness. It asks how well you digest what you eat, when and how you eat, how active you are, how you sleep, and how your routine supports or works against your body.

Preeti's Swedana page describes balancing the doshas and clearing ama, accumulated toxins, as supporting digestion and metabolism. She sees this as one part of a plan built around your constitution (Prakriti) and current imbalance (Vikriti).

What a consultation with Preeti covers

Preeti Gupta is Ayurvedic Doctor-level certified (NAMACB) and a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). Your first visit is a 90-minute consultation ($250). She discusses your health concerns and symptoms in detail and reviews your daily routine, diet, digestion, exercise and sleeping habits. She uses a detailed health history, pulse analysis, skin examination and tongue diagnosis to understand your constitution and where it is out of balance. Bring a list of your medications and the results your physician is tracking.

You leave with a customized diet plan, self-care routines, and recommendations for herbs and oils. Follow-ups are $125 for 60 minutes. Preeti recommends focusing on one or two imbalances at a time. See pricing.

What she may recommend

All of this is meant to sit alongside your physician's care.

What you can start this week

When to see your physician

Talk to your physician before changing your diet if you take medication for diabetes, blood pressure or cholesterol, especially insulin or other diabetes medicines, because food changes can change how much medicine you need. See a doctor promptly for extreme thirst and frequent urination, blurred vision, unexplained weight loss or gain, shortness of breath, swelling in the legs, dizziness, or chest pain (call 911). Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Common questions about weight and metabolism

Can Ayurveda help with weight loss?

Ayurveda supports healthy habits: digestion, meal timing, routine, movement and sleep. Preeti builds a plan around your constitution and does not promise a particular result. Many clients report feeling a difference within the first few weeks of following their plan, and lasting change usually comes over months.

Can Ayurveda help with cholesterol and blood sugar?

Ayurveda can support the diet and lifestyle habits that matter for both, but it does not replace medication or lab monitoring. Your physician's tests are how you track cholesterol and blood sugar. Keep your doctor informed of any change you make.

Is Ayurveda safe alongside my diabetes or blood pressure medication?

Tell Preeti about every medication and supplement you take so she can plan around them, and ask your physician before changing your diet or adding herbs. Do not stop or change prescribed medication on your own. More on this in the FAQs.
